All Chips the size of a penny or smaller is $40 per chip
A small chip doesn’t stay small for long, especially in Arizona. Windshield chip repair fixes the damage while it’s still minor, so you can avoid a full replacement down the road. At Advanced Tint Solutions, we handle everything from a small windshield nick repair to more involved chip and crack windshield repair, fast and affordable.
Arizona’s climate makes chips spread faster than in most states. Extreme heat expands the glass. Cold AC air hitting a hot windshield creates rapid temperature changes that stress the crack. Potholes add vibration and impact. Even washing a hot car with cold water can cause a chip to spread within seconds. The longer you wait, the more likely a simple chip repair turns into a full crack requiring replacement

Chip and crack windshield repair seals the damage before it spreads into a crack that requires full replacement.
Repair costs a fraction of what replacement costs, and it takes far less time.
Repairing preserves your factory seal and original windshield, instead of removing and replacing the whole unit.
Most chip crack windshield repair at Advanced Tint Solutions takes well under an hour, often while you wait.
Many insurance policies cover chip repair at little to no cost to you, since it’s cheaper for them than a full replacement claim.
Chandler drivers deal with a specific set of conditions that make chips more common, and make them spread faster once they happen.
Loose rock and debris kicked up at freeway speed are one of the most common causes of a fresh chip. Especially driving on the Loop 101/202.
Summer storms kick up loose debris and small rocks that can strike your windshield during and after a storm.
Haboobs and dust storms carry grit and small debris that can pit or chip glass, especially at highway speed.
Arizona’s heat expands your windshield glass. Blasting cold AC onto a hot windshield, or washing a hot car with cold water, creates rapid temperature changes that can cause an existing chip to spread fast.

Not all windshield damage behaves the same way. Here are the most common types we see.
A dark circular chip caused by an impact, often from a rock or road debris.
Small cracks radiating out from a central point, resembling a star shape.
A partial ring shape, similar to a bullseye but not fully formed.
A mix of a bullseye and star break in the same impact point, usually more complex to repair.
A small chip that only affects the outer layer of glass, without deeper impact into the windshield.
Most of these types can be repaired if caught early. Our technicians at Advanced Tint Solutions will assess the type, size, and location of the damage to determine whether repair is the right call, or whether replacement makes more sense.
Most chips smaller than a quarter, and cracks shorter than a dollar bill, can usually be repaired. Larger damage, or cracks that have already spread significantly, typically call for a full front window crack repair through replacement instead.

A technician cleans the damaged area, then injects a specialized resin into the chip under pressure. The resin fills the crack, is cured, and polished, restoring most of the windshield’s strength and clarity.
A fresh chip repairs more effectively than an old one. Dirt, moisture, and debris can work their way into an older chip over time, making the resin bond less effective. If you have a chip, don’t wait to bring it to Advanced Tint Solutions.
Chips directly in the driver’s line of sight are trickier. Even after a clean repair, minor distortion can sometimes remain. In these cases, we may recommend replacement instead if the damage sits directly in your critical viewing area.
Not always. Very large chips, chips at the edge of the windshield, or damage with multiple deep cracks often require replacement instead of repair.
Once repaired, a chip is far less likely to spread, but it’s not fully guaranteed in every case. If a repaired chip does spread later, we offer credit toward a full replacement.
If your windshield has more than one chip, each one is typically assessed and repaired individually in the same visit, as long as they qualify for repair rather than replacement.
A tinted windshield can still be chip repaired. The process doesn’t damage or affect legal windshield tint, whether it’s a visor strip or full clear ceramic film.
Chip repair only works on laminated glass, which is what your windshield is made of. Rear windows and most side windows are made of tempered glass, which shatters rather than chips, so those require full replacement instead of repair.
Tell Advanced Tint Solutions about the chip or crack and your vehicle. We’ll let you know if repair is the right call, or if replacement makes more sense.
Pick a day that works for you. Chip repair is usually quick, often done in well under an hour.
Most chip repairs are fast enough to wait for. If you’d rather drop off and go about your day, that works too.
Pick up your vehicle with the chip sealed and repaired, protected from spreading into a full crack.
Every technician at Advanced Tint Solutions is certified specifically in auto glass repair, not a general auto tech handling glass on the side.
We'll tell you honestly whether your damage qualifies for repair or needs a full replacement, before any work begins.
We use professional grade resin and injection equipment, not a quick fix that fails within weeks.
We hold our work to a high standard, and we stand behind it. If your repair doesn't meet your expectations, we'll make it right.
We work directly with most major insurance providers, so you don't have to navigate the claims process alone. As an affiliate on the Safelite Solutions network, Advanced Tint Solutions is able to process many claims quickly and efficiently.

Not usually, but it comes close. A proper repair restores most of the windshield’s strength and clarity, and the chip becomes far less noticeable. Depending on the type and size of the damage, a faint mark or small blemish may still be visible up close, even though the crack itself is sealed and stopped from spreading.
Often, yes. Many comprehensive policies cover chip repair at no deductible, since it’s cheaper for insurers than a full replacement claim. Filing a chip repair claim also falls under Arizona’s no fault glass protection, meaning a legitimate glass claim generally won’t raise your rates. Check with your specific provider to confirm your coverage.
It’s less likely to spread after a proper repair, but it’s not guaranteed in every case. If a repaired chip does spread later, Advanced Tint Solutions offers credit toward a full replacement.
Not always. Very large chips, damage at the edge of the windshield, or chips with multiple deep cracks often require replacement instead.
It depends on where the chip is and whether it affects your view. Under Arizona’s windshield adequacy law, your windshield has to stay in safe, usable condition. A chip sitting in your direct line of sight is the kind of damage that can get you pulled over, so it’s worth getting it looked at sooner rather than later.
Chip repair costs a fraction of full windshield replacement, and takes far less time. Repairing damage early is almost always the more affordable option.
DIY chip repair kits exist, but they often produce weaker, less clear results than a professional repair. A poor DIY repair can also make it harder for a technician to fix the damage properly later if it spreads.
Keep extra distance from gravel trucks and vehicles ahead of you on the freeway, especially on Loop 101, Loop 202, and Loop 60 during active construction. Avoid washing a hot car with cold water, and let your AC cool the cabin gradually instead of blasting cold air directly onto a hot windshield.
